It's Mary Ann Jenkins here today with a heritage layout using old family photos along with some of my favorite glitter washi tape.
The photos are from 1949, just after my dad enlisted in the Navy. For my embellishments I decided to go with a red, white and blue theme, along with stars, stripes, and that great anchor.
To start my layout, I cut 4 triangle shapes from white cardstock, then layered on the Blue Stripe Glitter Washi Tape to completely cover the triangles. I added the triangles to my layout, along with 4 more triangle shapes I cut from coordinating patterned paper. Next I adhered some of the Red Star Buttons from the Button Boquet II set. I like the addition of the stars!
I cut an anchor shape using my die cutting machine, then covered it with rows of Silver Skinny Glitter Tape. After I had the anchor completely covered with the glitter tape, I used my scissors to carefully cut around the anchor. I used a small circle hole punch at the top of the anchor so I could then add the strand of Red and White Twine from the Twine Assortment Pack. I placed the anchor on the left side of my layout, then added tiny drops of glue to adhere the twine around my layout
I love the look of the shiny glitter anchor, the perfect accent to go with these old photos.
