Hi! Jennifer here with a layout about one of our great American traditions--the Pumpkin Pie. Most of my family are not big fans of pumpkin pie, so I don't usually make them, but for some reason my little guy got it into his head that he wanted to make a pie out of his pumpkin patch pick--and pestered me the entire month of October to make one for him. I eventually got around to it earlier this month, making him the happiest almost-four-year-old you've even seen.
Even though the layout is Fall/Thanksgiving in theme, I mostly used our Halloween product on the page. I love finding versatility in product! For the title, I took the orange rhinestones from the Halloween rhinestone pack and embellished the plain chipboard alphas to really make them stand out off the page. I only used one package of rhinestones to do all that embellishing--I'm amazed how far that pack could go!
To reinforce the "pumpkin' pie theme, I ran a strip of the 1.6" Pumpkins felt fusion along the bottom of my page. To adhere it, I left the backing on, temporarily adhered it in place with some removable dry adhesive, and then ran my machine over it a few times. I really love the look of stitching over the felt and have been playing around with that a lot (I'm so happy the adhesive does not gum up my machine when I stitch over it!). For extra sparkle I added some of the purple rhinestones from the Halloween rhinestone pack where the pumpkins meet.
Last, I added one of our pumpkin shaped brads (again from a Halloween theme pack) to the upper right corner of my photo and circled it with some more of the purple rhinestones. I wanted to create an accent to fill the empty space in the photo, but that still wouldn't distract from the page.
For those of you that celebrate it, hope you had a safe and happy Thanksgiving yesterday!
