I know, I know, it's still early for Valentines projects, but I figure very soon the blog will be overflowing with sneak peeks, layouts and projects with all the new product we have ready for CHA in February.
I hope you enjoy this gorgeous Valentine project by Anabelle O'Malley. There is just something about the jewels that makes every project special.
Jewels and Valentines Day projects...
I love Valentine's Day. And I love creating Valentine's Day projects. I made this cute little treat jar from an empty Yankee Candle jar. To get the wax out, I turned the jar upside down in the sink and ran hot tap water on it for a couple of minutes. Then I took a butter knife and popped the wax right out. To get any remaining wax residue out, I filled the jar with water and stuck it in the microwave for less than a minute. The hot water gets the wax right off.
The new felt pieces from the new Valentine's Day line were perfect for this project! I love Queen and Company's jewels, so I wanted to add them, too. One tip that I found that makes it so much easier to apply them is to:
1) Squirt a bit of glue on a piece of scrap paper.
2) Stick a piece of double sided tape on your finger.
3) Pick up jewel with your finger, with the top of the jewel attached to the adhesive.
4) Dip it in the glue and then place it where you want it.
5) Use your free hand to gently peel the jewel away from the tape and secure it to the project.
This has made it so much easier for me to apply even the tiniest of jewels to my projects.
I lOVE these-I want to make some too.
My mother gets wax out of jars by freezing them- when they come out of the freezer the wax pops right off!

Too early-I'm already behind. Great project (I have the jars) and fantastic tip.
Being a bit mature-placing small items is difficult-this will help immensely.
Thanks.
